What a great few days for Radio 1. Colin Murray has won Music Broadcaster of the Year at the very posh Sony Awards, while the radio station’s website has won a Webby Award.
Radio 1 won the award for best radio website. The award ceremony takes place in New York this June. The Webby Academy does sound very cool, with Beck, David Bowie, Richard Branson, movie titan Harvey Weinstein and Matt Groening all members.
However, Radio 1 bosses cannot get too excited. Their acceptance speech will have to be kept to 5 words. Hollywood this is not.
