This event, appropriately inspired by Joy Division’s debut album, will showcase some of the best young musicians in the country. The Noisettes, Adjagas and Findlay Brown are some of the names that will appear. The event will take place at the Manchester Academy and culminate in an outdoor finale at Salford Quays.
While more acts are to be confirmed, The Noisettes, Adjagas and Findlay Brown so far represent the right balance of London cool, cultural awareness and traditional song writing. The Manchester Academy is also ideal for this type of show. It was rated as one of the best live venues in the country by the NME.
For those about to rock, we salute you.
The week of events will climax in Unknown Pleasure At The Quays, where the action will shift from Manchester to Salford. The title for this event is even more appropriate, since the line up is yet to be announced. However, Festival Director Alex Poots promises “some of the hottest national and international bands around.” They will perform in the outdoor 5000 seat amphitheater, so great things will be expected.
